Joe Rogan, the popular comedian and podcast host, has signed a new contract with Spotify, the leading audio streaming platform. However, unlike his previous deal, which made his show “The Joe Rogan Experience” a Spotify exclusive, the new contract allows him to distribute his podcast on other platforms as well, such as YouTube and Apple Podcasts. According to the Wall Street Journal, the new deal with Rogan, which could be worth up to $250 million, includes a guaranteed upfront payment and a share of the ad sales revenue. Spotify did not confirm the details of the deal and said in an email that the WSJ’s estimate was wrong. However, it did not disclose the actual value of the contract.
